A Simple 6-Step Makeup Routine (Feat. Shape Tape)
When it comes to makeup, I try to keep things as simple as possible because I don’t like a lot of fuss.*
*I really just completely leave my eyes alone besides mascara because I don’t have deep set eyes with a lot of eyelid space to get creative with and use eyeshadow and eyeliner on and it pisses me off.
My routine has been the same for a long time now. Because I have super sensitive combination skin, once I find a product that works, it takes a lot for me to move away from it or incorporate anything new. HOWEVER, last week, I was told about the newest all-the-rage beauty product: Shape Tape. I had never heard of it (because I legitimately don’t follow many bloggers), so at first I thought it was literal tape you position on your face to shape it? Like a facelift without the injections? I was very wrong. It’s a concealer by Tarte, and it’s supposedly very popular. The new makeup godsend, if you will. So, I bit because I’m not above giving popular beauty products a test run in the EMMASTHING lab, and I have to say—it’s pretty fucking great.
I’ve posted about my very simplified makeup routine a few times before, but adding Shape Tape into my routine inspired me to break it down for you guys yet again with a lot of pictures. Typically, I wouldn’t use the contour and highlight palette on a random Tuesday, but I decided to go for it today to show you guys the full 6 steps I take when I’m gEtTiNg ReAdY.
It’s literally as simple as 1, 2, 3, 456. Here we go!
STEP 0: Completely bare face, prepped and ready to go
STEP 1: Apply Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (SHADE 7) all over with foundation brush
