My Recent Amazon Haul

Honestly, I try to be like the other bloggers and post monthly recaps at the beginning of every month. But it doesn’t always work out like that. Sometimes my top sellers are lame and the same old shit you guys have seen me talk about 100 times. Or, sometimes I didn’t get that much from Amazon in a month, but load up the first two weeks of a new month. Which brings us to this post.

Maybe it’s because of The Home Edit Netflix show, maybe it’s just me being 33 and in semi-isolation and really leaning into my home. Regardless, I’ve been all about making small but highly effective tweaks to my house the last couple of weeks. These are things I’ve been meaning to do since I moved in a year ago, but you get comfortable and life happens. I have a small handful of before and afters for you guys in this post (OUR FAVORITE), plus a small handful of clutch purchases. Lessgo.

SHEEPSKIN RUG AND CORD HIDING BOX

It’s truly wild what a cheap throw rug can do for a space. I’ve been talking about getting a sheepskin rug for underneath my media console for months and finally did just that. I’ve also been lamenting about how ugly all the cords coming out from my TV are for months, and also finally did something about it via a cord hiding box. The glow up is small but mighty, IMO.

The sheepskin rug is available in a lot of colors and a lot of sizes, so you can get a color and size that fits perfectly into your space! I went with traditional white (because my sister told me to), and got a 2x6 rug for this particular area. The cord hiding box is only $15 and does exactly what it claims to do—HIDE YOUR CORDS, HIDE YOUR WIRES, CAUSE WE BE HATING HOW THEY LOOK OUT HERE!

Bonus: The grey-washed wicker basket that now houses my workout equipment I got from Pier1, but it’s no longer available. Fear not, though! Amazon has a ton of similar baskets, like this, this, and this.

KITCHEN DRAWER ORGANIZER

Plastic. Expandable. Perfect. I’ve had one of these in my other kitchen drawer for a year, but never bought a second one for my other other kitchen drawer until Sunday night. Such an easy, aesthetically pleasing way to make sense of all the utensils you rarely ever use but refuse to part with. Plus, because it’s expandable, you can configure it however you deem best for your drawer!

POTS, PANS, AND LID ORGANIZER

And speaking of organizing kitchen drawers and cabinets, I FINALLY GOT POT AND PANDS AND LID ORGANIZERS AND OMG, THE OCD ERECTION. Y’all. I just. Like. Do you have an organizational system for your pots and pans? Can you make this one work? Because if no and if yes, you must get this right now. Never in my life have I ever been more satisfied with a before/after. This contraption is so easy to maneuver and set up, and just look! LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE. HEAVEN HELP ME.

LAZY SUSAN SPICE RACK

This isn’t anything monumental. I just, for whatever reason, have had my spices hidden inside a lower cabinet door? And realized wtf? This is so inconvenient, I need a new word for inconvenient. So, I threw this lazy susan spice rack into my cart and wouldn’t you know—my counter never felt so spicy. And! I can fit every single spice on it. Wow.

FLOATING SHELVES

I hate posting about things before I get them because I always want my reviews to be based on first-hand experience. HOWEVER, I have a feeling these are gonna be as good as I think they are, so I don’t mind telling you I ordered them for my bedroom! I’ve always admired floating shelves but have never gotten any for myself because I don’t know why. Probably because of my deeply engrained insecurity about home decor. But these arrive this Friday and will take the spot of the most random picture wall that doesn’t make a lot of sense in my room, and I’m very excited to get them set up.

DUST RUFFLE PINS

Several weeks ago, I posted a time-lapse showcasing my struggle to put my dust ruffle on the bed and keep it there. I got a few messages from y’all about dust ruffle pins that keep it in place, and wouldn’t you know—YOU WAS RIGHT. I got this pack and they are fantastic—easy to use and do their job. Does buying dust ruffle pins at age 33 guarantee I’m on my way to becoming my mother? The world will never know.

REZAMID: ACNE SPOT TREATMENT

My best friend (the one with the kid) has perfect skin. We often joke that she missed her calling as a dermatologist. Her nightly skincare routine takes 20 minutes, and involves washing her chest (please hold your questions). Although our skin is different, I do trust her recommendations whole heartedly and this bitch has been using Rezamid as a spot treatment since she was 13. It took me 20 years to take her up on the rec, but I’m so glad I finally did because it’s good shit. It dries shit up SO fast, I can attest. It also kinda looks like foundation on some skin tones, so you can wear it on your pimples under your makeup if you blend it well. Just shake the shit out of it, get a q-tip, and create a connect the dots on your face for maximum results.

DRAMA QUEEN SPICE MIX

THIS. SHIT. Listen to me closely. If you love Thai, spice, crunch, or flavor, GET. THIS. SHIT. I first tried Drama Queen at The Mint, and it has since been made available on Amazon, much to my delight. The flavors are just… I can’t explain it. You just have to experience them for yourself. Put it on noodles, vegetables, pizza, or try what I did yesterday and PUT IT ON YOUR TUNA SALAD OMG. It’s crack. You’ve been warned.

WIRELESS EAR BUDS

My boyfriend is an Android user. We don’t talk about it much—just about every day when I say “I WISH WE COULD FACETIME.” He also has Apple TV, though… so. ANYWAY, he obviously doesn’t have AirPods but decided* (*I decided) he needed some form of them, so I surprised him with these $40 bluetooth ear buds and they’re “fucking GREAT!” (his words, not mine). If you’re in the market for some wireless ear buds but don’t want to drop the hundreds on AirPods (understandably), these are just as good… if not better? They really stay in your ear and are completely noise-cancelling. JUST SAYING.

SEAMLESS HAIR TIES

One of our friends brought these to the lake last month and gave one to each of us because she’s a kind soul. We all fell in love immediately. The material is sort of pantyhose-like, and they don’t stretch out. At least not yet. I feel like it’ll take A LOT. I also love all the different neutral tones, and the seamlessness! They’re just really solid, great quality hair ties. GET SOME!

WOW. IDK about y’all, but this particular Amazon haul post was a natural high to ride. Stay tuned, because I’m for sure going to follow up on the floating shelves, and probably add more home organization stuff to cart in the coming weeks. Let me know if you have any questions or end up getting any of these things for your own home!
