A $100 Bathroom Facelift

Where you do your business should be nice to sit in, no?

Our toilet stands alone in a separate room off our main bathroom and is very… sad. It’s been treated as a toilet closet and not much else since I moved in, so I decided it was time to beautify this otherwise drab space in an affordable, easy way. Enter: World Market.

I’ve talked about these amazing wood shelves before. They come in three sizes: 4 feet, 3 feet, and 2 feet. We have a 4-footer in my office as a display shelf, so I’m familiar with how sturdy and nice these look. I had the idea to buy two 2-footers to stack on top of each other over our toilet to create a much-needed moment, and literally could not be prouder of myself. As I’ve stated many times on here before, #housestuff gives me anxiety because I don’t think I’m any good at it so when I execute something well, it’s one step closer to not feeling so inept.

Here’s our very sad toilet closet before:

Yikes. Clearly, I haven’t really given a shit (even though I have given many shits to that toilet). But with a few wood shelves and they’re accompanying brackets (you have to buy the brackets separately. It’s a mix-and-match system, so you can have fun with it. We went with the gold brackets!), a cute wire basket for TP, a woven bathroom canister for tampons, a little greenery, and a dash of dogs, we transformed this space for about $100!

Just waiting on my Baltic Amber reed diffuser to arrive, and that will be the final touch on this bathroom facelift. Shop the pieces by clicking the links throughout this post or by clicking the picture below!
