NEW OBSESSION: Madewell's Carpenter Overalls

I have loved Madewell for many, many years. It’s the most literal name for their product because it all is truly made SO well. It’s rare that I ever pop in and leave empty-handed, which is exactly what happened a few weeks ago when I went to return a sweater. Although I was attempting a no-shopping January and truly had every intention of just returning the sweater and being on my merry way, I made the grave mistake of making eye contact with clothes in the store and was in the dressing room trying on these carpenter-style denim overalls before I knew it.

I have been a fan of overalls since I was a child and have found ways to wear them as an adult that make sense for my style. I have several pairs, but the one pair of blue denim overalls I own are ripped and have a skinny cut, which I’m not exactly into at this moment (or maybe ever again?). So, I was drawn to this wide/baggy leg overall look and could not have been more pleasantly surprised at how these Madewell carpenter overalls fit. Yes, the legs are baggy and wider, but the waist is very drawn in, accentuating your curves and the chest cut is narrow as well. Because these overalls are curve-enthusiastic on top and wider on bottom, they create such a chic, casual yet kind of sexy in an overall way look that I am obsessed with (I took them in a medium).

Since it’s still off and on chilly here in Dallas, I paired them with Madewell’s black whisper turtleneck (I’ve had this for two years and LOVE IT. Size small), Madewell’s Corinne lug sole loafers (also have had these for years and they are perfect loafers and SO comfortable. TTS), and two pairs of new Madewell earrings I got the same day I brought home these overalls: these tiny pearl huggie hoops, and these delicate pearl chain studs.

I can’t wait to pair these with tank tops and tees throughout the spring and summer. They’re such a good staple for your wardrobe, regardless of the season. 100/10 recommend!
