Fall Shopping Has Entered the Chat

It’s that time again, folks. The best time of the year. The time in which there’s no such thing as too much pumpkin, orange, leaves, soft things, booties, and chili. It’s fall, y’all.

Well, not yet exactly. But it’s September which means we’re close to the actual fall season itself (I’m aware I’m delusional and that we won’t experience fall temperatures for another two months but this is all I have right now). The start of a new season means two big things for me:

1) An end-of-season closet clean-out

2) Mini shopping sprees

Typically, I try and wait to accomplish the closet clean-out before the mini shopping sprees happen, but it just so happens I was in the mood to shop yesterday and my closet purge is scheduled for this coming Friday morning (Yes, I asked a friend over to help me have no mercy on myself or my closet). Oops. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve been reading up on fall trends for 2021, and so far the ones that have stuck with me are:

  • Cutouts, which I’m not sure if I’m on board. I thought we were over that.

  • BOLD, saturated colors, which obviously I die for.

  • Sweater vests, which I’m ready for.

  • Patterned pants, which I feel is right on time and necessary.

  • Hair scarves, which eh. I don’t know. I’m not sure I have what it takes to put a legit kerchief on my head, but never say never.

  • 2000s, which NO.

  • Suits, specifically skirt suits, which yes.

  • And skiwear, which… I do love a fair isle pattern, but IDK.

During my first mini fall shopping spree yesterday (Tuesday, Aug 31), I did not purchase any item that would fall under any of these trends, but the season is young my friends. I actually do have this adorable sweater vest on its way to my house right now and am hoping I can style it right because it’s just so fun! But on tonight’s reel, I modeled what I’ve purchased for fall so far and can honestly say I am in love with every single piece. Summer is not my season; I’m too sweaty to enjoy getting dressed during the summer. Fall has always been my jam and where I thrive, which is why I usually go HAM on fall shopping. Keep scrolling to get the deets on each piece I showcased in my fall shopping reel!

My favorite color is green. We named our bulldog Bowie after David Bowie. And I love Anine Bing graphics. This was a no-brainer for me. She has tons of other graphic sweatshirts, too, if green and David Bowie aren’t your bag. I’m obsessed and got a medium!

I’ve been under my own self-inflicted impression that white leather shoes in any form are not for me. That was until yesterday, when I tried these on at Beatnik here in Dallas and realized I was meant for them. They’re slim fit, so might make you sweat a little to get on, but once they’re on they’re perfect. Love them so much and took my normal shoe size!

Traditionally, blazers have been hard for me. So when I tried this one on and saw it actually worked, I was thrilled. The colors are right on point for fall, and I’m obsessed with the 3/4 length sleeves! No need to fasten your blazers sleeves up with hair ties—they’re automatically pushed up for you! The fabric is also insanely soft. I’m in love with this piece and took it in a large to ensure maximum style and comfort.

Who doesn’t love or need a long sleeve, button down, white mini dress for fall? This is a perfect dress. Plus, you can wear it with the buttons facing forwards or backwards, so it’s a 2-for-1! I cannot wait to wear this when the temperature drops. I love nothing more than a short dress with booties during the fall! I took a small.

There is no fall dress more perfect than this. That’s it. That’s the caption. Took it in a small.

Let’s completely switch gears and change into our overalls. Y’all, I saw these and this color in-store at Free People and about lost my shit. They are so cool, such a unique shade, and very very comfortable. I’ve owned blue overalls and black overalls, so it was time for some neutral tan overalls. I am over the moon about this purchase. I took a small, but could’ve done a medium if I was going for a baggier overall look! They’re also available in multiple color stories if tan isn’t your thing.

Okay. One of my favorite lewks ever is a grey hoodie under a jean jacket, and this ingenious combo of the two without the bulk is, well, GENIUS! They only have one left and it was a large and it was the perfect fit and affect so I got it. IN LOVE!
