2022 Spring Haul(ish)

With every changing season, I absolutely lose my shopping shit. This has been true since I was old enough to understand the joy (and often times despair) shopping can bring. I 100% blame my mother as the love of shopping and the need to shop for new clothes every year for every season was instilled in both my sister and myself from a very young age.

Last Thursday, I did a MEGA closet cleanout. I mean MEGA. If I put something on that brought me no joy, it either went into a pile for donations or was listed on Poshmark (pretty much everything has sold, but it never hurts to look). I made a large dent in my belongings with this closet purge, which made room for the new pieces I’ve been buying the last month or so. Dresses on dresses, some very cute tops, and new jeans to name a few. My spring/summer shopping is far from over (and we’re just getting started on wedding event looks), but I wanted to share what I’ve acquired so far to whet your spring shopping whistle!

Watch the fun reel I put together modeling the looks below and keep scrolling for the details!

AMAZON DRESSES

1) This wrap dress is so flattering and easy to wear. It’s not the highest quality, but what is from Amazon? For $30, though, it’s fab. I paired it with my favorite Veja sneakers for a casual look.

2 & 3) This gal really loves a wrap dress. Anything to camouflage my tummy! These are fabulous. Nice, thick cotton, come in a ton of colors, and $38. I might get mine hemmed a bit so they’re a true mini on me. Wore them with my Charlotte Stone sandals!

MARINE LAYER DRESS

I can’t resist this color red and the material of this Marine Layer tiered maxi dress is to die for. So soft, so comfortable, and love the 3/4 length sleeve, too. You can do a cute sandal or a sneaker situation like I did with the Vejas yet again!

J.CREW DRESS

This ADORABLE spring dress is a powder blue IRL. That’s important for you to know. It makes the dress 100x prettier. This runs large, so size down one. It has a front slit and pockets, which makes it perfect. Paired it with my velvet corduroy Target slides to bring out the pink in the dress!

REFORMATION DRESS

This DRESSSSSSS. It’s just amazing, period. I’m desperate that they’ll restock the ivory color in my size before the wedding so I can wear it for a wedding event, but who knows. Regardless, I got it in green and love it so much. Runs small, so size up! Wore it with my new obsession: these simple, double-strap Amazon heels!

ANTHROPOLOGIE TOP WITH MADEWELL JEANS

This Anthropologie top is so not something I would typically go after, but I saw it in-store and had to try it on. I’m glad I did because it’s VERY cute and fun. It’s cropped and smocked and fluttery—all the things. Paired it with my new Madewell 10” high-rise cropped skinny jeans (which run BIIIG because there’s a lot of stretch) and my Vejas!

TARGET TOP WITH MADEWELL JEANS

Ellen spotted this cute ass gingham top at Target, texted me a picture, and I asked her to grab it for me (told you she is to blame for my shopping). I LOVE the pink and green color combo—it’s so fresh for spring. This top is NOT cropped; it’s shorter, but it’s not a true crop top at all. Runs true to size, too! Wore it with the same Madewell jeans as above.

REFORMATION TOP WITH EVERLANE JEANS

This fucking top. It is beyond rare for me to buy and wear a top that shows off the girls, but wow—this blouse is so beautiful and makes me feel beautiful. I didn’t know it came in white, and I may just have to get that for impending wedding things… Anyway, Reformation runs small, so size up! The jeans are Everlane’s ‘90s Cheeky Jeans and I love them so dearly. They’re pretty true to size, but stretch just a bit.
