My Skincare Routine, Including A $15 Retinol For Sensitive Skin

It’s been many months since I wrote about my skincare routine. I had a bad go of it last spring/summer and it took me a while to get everything under control. Ever since, I haven’t changed much about how I tend to my sensitive skin except for introducing a retinol about a month ago that I feel has already made a difference to my skin texture. I exclusively use CeraVe face wash and face moisturizer on my skin. It’s nothing fancy; hell, it’s the least fancy you can get. There’s no fragrance. No special hook. No cool packaging. It’s just the simplest, most straightforward product that gets the job done. I remove my excess makeup with Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micellar Water in both the liquid form and sometimes the face wipe form, depending. I use Clarins eye cream and try to remember to apply Neulash serum every night to my lashes. And just recently, I added CeraVe’s Retinol to the mix, which I use A PEA-SIZED AMOUNT OF every other night (or when I remember to).

I couldn’t believe how clear it looked this morning when I was in our bathroom, so I’m sharing that picture. It’s completely untouched. But, to be fair, I’m sharing another picture at the end of the day in a different bathroom with different lighting to show that my skin obviously isn’t perfect and still has texture, but it still looks pretty damn good.

There you have it. My simple skincare routine for sensitive skin, and a $15 retinol by CeraVe that I believe is gentle enough for even the most fragile of us!
